For one week every year, the Richard Nixon Foundation sponsors 30 undergraduate business students from Southern California universities as they embark on an immersive trip to experience our nation’s capital.

President Nixon was a Southern Californian interested in public service, and was introduced to national political life thanks to the sponsorship of a family friend in Whittier, California in 1945.

In the same vein, this Washington, D.C. Student Experience exposes California’s future leaders to the intersection of business and public policy, in order to better understand how decisions made at the federal level impact entrepreneurship, innovation and the broader economy. And engaging directly with congressional and civic leaders allows students to gain extraordinarily valuable, personalized insights - and expand their professional networks.

This program includes guided group tours of America’s national monuments and historic sites, opportunities to interact with members of the foreign diplomatic corps, and attendance at the annual Grand Strategy Summit, a Nixon Foundation conference that assesses and tracks the foreign policy outlook for the United States and the world in the years ahead.

Since 2022, nearly 100 students have taken part in this program and benefitted. It is a chief objective to double this total in the next three years -- doubling our impact, and potentially influencing a budding entrepreneur!

The cost for each student amounts to $3,300, which in addition to exclusive tours and full conference access, includes all of a student’s meals, ground transportation in Washington, and five nights of hotel accommodations.
